The Safety and Enterprise Risk Management division encompasses the following offices: Environmental Health & Safety, University Police, Enterprise Risk Management and Emergency Management.
The mission of the Safety and Risk Management division: Integrate "Prevent-Protect-Preserve-Prosper" theme into a focused organizational unit for the University Community to provide the best possible environment for successful completion of the university's mission of education, research, and service to North Carolina.
The division is headed up by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Safety and Risk Management and is responsible for managing a comprehensive public safety and risk program at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and providing leadership, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance oversight of the division.
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Safety and Risk Management reports to the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs. The position receives guidance from the VC for Business and other Executive staff members to include the Chancellor. The AVC serves on numerous campus committees (i.e. Emergency Planning Committee, Workplace Violence Committee, Enterprise Safety and Security committee and is a representative on Chancellor Crisis Policy Team).
With approximately 75 professional and support staff members, the division serves a campus with a population of approximately 23,000 faculty, staff, and students with almost $50 million in funded research.
